2011 Summer Outings and Events These are all now past.  Watch for next years plans.
The 2012 Programme is out and on the programme with members.  It will be on this web in a week or so.

Besides the monthly programme, we also arrange Outings and Guided Tours.  Here are the planned events for 2011.  Other Outings are arranged throughout the summer.  Members will also be contacted when new Outings are arranged or dates fixed.   Please come along and support us. All members and guests are very welcome.

Sat  5th Mar.  St Piran's Day.  Come and join us in the East Looe "Rose Garden".  We celebrate with short plays by the local Junior School (hopefully), music and food from 11.00 am to 12.30pm.  If you can help we would be delighted.  If you have new ideas then let us know.

Sun  6th Mar. Join us along with many other societies and supporters at Perranporth Sands, where there will be a procession through the dunes of over 200 people (weather permitting!), to watch three enactments of St Piran's life. This really is a fun time to see a small part of the original historic Cornwall along with much jolity. It all atarts about 1.30 and finishes by 4.00. All free.  Just get yourself there.

Fri  15th Apr.  Spring Lunch at Looe golf Club, This is a new venture for us, having a lunch instead of an evening meal. Do come and make this  a great success and good start for our summer activities. Time 12.00 for 12.30. Price £10.00  for main course and sweet.

Tue 17th May. King Fisher trip. This is an old but very popular regular outing.  Normally about 24 of us go up the West Looe River in two boats.  Nibbles and wine are provided at Shallow Pool, which is  well beyond Watergate, and deep in the jungle with the crocodiles and Piranah  (ha\ve I splet that right)?.  Perhaps even the odd KingFisher if we keep quiet enough!

Wed 8th Jun.  Trelawne Barton Cream Tea.  Again another very popular regular. Carole Vivian is a magnificent hostess and her knowledge of local history is vast.

Thu  30th Jun.  Trelawny Day.  On our own back-door step, so well worth it!  Meet Pelynt Hall at 5.00pm where a short programme will be introduced by Carole Vivian, folowed by tea.  Cost £5.00.  This is followed by a service at Pelynt Church at 7.30.

Sat 2nd Jul.  Federation OCS Summer Festival.  At Bude. Plenty of trips around and food prvided.

Thu 8th Sep.  Looe Island and BBQ.   By popular demand this is being run again. 24 of us went last year and unanimously requested we do it again!  Book early for your place.  The ferry can only take so many! Meet 12.30pm  at the RNLI Slipway, East Looe.  You'll have about 2 hours on the Island to enjoy the tranquil surrounds together with a BBQ  on the beach.  Cost £9.50, includes ferry fare and landing dues plus beef burger and sausage roll.

Crying the Neck....details and date to be announced.  Towards the end of August, and at the convenience of a local farmer we all meet in a cornfield overlooking the beautiful landscape of Looe, to cut the final neck of corn, have a short cornish ceremony followed by cider, safron cake and hot drinks.  Only £1.50.  You'll enjoy it.

Thu 29th Sep.  Carnglaze Caverns.  Here's a first.  Come and join us and see marvels of the underground slate cavern and its colourful lakes. We meet at 3.00 pm.  Cost is £4.00.  Bring your own refreshments.

3rd Sept.  Cornish Gorsedd at Helston

Sat 22nd Oct.  Autumn Evening Dinner at Kellys.  Excellent hot and tasty fish and chip supper together with the one and only best Kellys Pavolova.
