The LOCS website came about through the successful application to the Local Heritage Initiative for money to commemorate the life and works of Joseph Thomas and Looe. To further enhance his works in our small town, LOCS also requested money to develop a web site that would not only supplement the memory of Joseph Thomas, but would also document all the LOCS activities.
The Local Heritage Initiative is a partnership between the Heritage Lottery Fund, Nationwide Building Society and the Countryside Agency. The same funding group that supported the highly successful Looe Heritage Trail Project and the film that followed, again with LOCS and also the Looe Development Trust.
